Joe Mercado, Ph.D

LT Joseph Mercado commissioned as a Naval Officer 06 January 2015 in Orlando, FL. He joins the Aerospace Experimental Psychology (AEP) community after working as civilian researcher for the Army since 2010. He has worked at the United States Military Academy, Army Research Institute, and Army Research Laboratory.

Tracy Sanders, Ph.D

Tracy Sanders comes from an extensive background in fine art and graphic design, and continues to be interested especially in the role of aesthetic qualities in human factors research. She received her B.S. in Psychology in 2011, with a minor in Studio Art at the University of Central Florida.

Ben D. Sawyer, Ph.D

Ben D. Sawyer became interested in Psychology while traveling, and returned to The States to pursue a BS in Psychology at Colorado State University. There, he was involved cognitive research using driving simulators and google based VEs to investigate the underpinnings of distraction, situational awareness and deja vu.

Julia Wright, Ph.D

Julia Wright comes to Applied Experimental and Human Factors Psychology after a career in mechanical design engineering that included work in heavy industrial installations, appliance and automotive industries. During her time designing finish parts and assemblies for the appliance and automotive industries, she consistently strove to incorporate features into products that made them more user-friendly and intuitive for all consumer interactions from manufacture and assembly through to end-user.

James Szalma is an assistant professor in the psychology department at the University of Central Florida. He received a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Michigan in 1990 and an MA in Applied Experimental/Human Factors psychology in 1997 from the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Mustapha Mouloua

Professor Mouloua received his Maitrise (Post Graduate Diploma) in Industrial Psychology from the University of Algiers and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Applied/Experimental Psychology from The Catholic University of America, Washington, DC.

Professor Mouloua received his Maitrise (Post Graduate Diploma) in Industrial Psychology from the University of Algiers and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Applied/Experimental Psychology from The Catholic University of America, Washington, DC. He was a research fellow from 1992 to 1994 at the Cognitive Science Laboratory of The Catholic University of America and became an assistant professor of psychology at UCF in 1994.
